On Wednesday, TikTok unveiled TikTok Resumes, a new program designed to help TikTok users find new jobs by creating video resumes for themselves. It’s currently only open in the US, but TikTok says that it has partnered with companies like Chipotle, WWE, Alo Yoga, Shopify, and more. “TikTok Resumes is a natural extension of our TikTok College Ambassadors program, where we previously employed hundreds of college students as on-campus brand representatives,” Kayla Dixon, the marketing manager at TikTok, said in the announcement. “Like many, college students were impacted by the pandemic and have displayed a resilience and unwavering optimism that’s truly been inspiring. We’re excited to help students and job seekers everywhere unleash their creativity and ‘get the bag!’” Users can find video resumes by searching through #TikTokResumes, where they can view job listings, examples of what TikTok calls “standout video resumes” and profiles of creators that focus on job-related content. Job-seekers will also be able to submit videos for posted jobs. The program will be accepting video resumes for US-based job openings from July 7 to July 31, so any interested users should log in and check out the search as soon as possible. It’s unclear at the moment if TikTok will open the resumes program up to international users, or if it will remain locked to the US for the foreseeable future.
