Some mouse and keyboard combinations may require you to wait a moment or two for the console to register them but for the most part, they simply just work. What Limitations Are There to Using a Keyboard and Mouse?
As mentioned, the big one is that you can’t play with other console players online. You’ll be matched up with PC players instead which can put you at a disadvantage compared to playing versus other console players. Also, not all games support keyboard and mouse combinations. Sony hasn’t confirmed any PlayStation 5 games that support mouse and keyboard, but there is a small selection of PlayStation 4 games that support such functionality. Remember—if these have cross-platform capabilities, you’ll be paired up with PC players rather than PlayStation 4 or 5 owners.
